What your school needs to do

Becta, the government's ICT body, has said that schools have responsibility in three areas:

  • Policies and procedures
  • Technical tools
  • Ensuring everyone in the community (teachers, TAs, other staff, parents and pupils) have an understanding of Internet Safety

Becta Schools Internet Safety Site

Ceop Teachers can sign up to access videos and other information.

Childnet's Know IT All has useful sections for parents, teachers and trainee teachers. The parents' section is also available as a CD-Rom (cost £2 each). There are also leaflets to print out or order for free.

Kidsmart has lesson plans, posters and leaflets to download.

South West Grid for Learning Safety

Think U Know has a good parents' information section.

Parents Online is an interactive resource for parents.
